Scrip

Sherwood Charter School PAC

Here's some basic information about Scrip, the gift card fundraising program conducted by the SCS PAC. If you have any questions about the information below, please contact the PAC at sherwoodcharterpac@gmail.com.

What is Scrip?

Scrip means “substitute money.” Scrip is pre-paid gift cards and paper gift certificates for specific stores, restaurants, or services that provide a discount to nonprofits needing to raise funds. Scrip is a dollar-for-dollar exchange and costs supporters nothing. You purchase gift cards for places you would normally shop and in return the PAC receives a percentage to use for the Sherwood Charter School.

What businesses can I get gift cards for?

We participate in the Tigard-Tualatin Scrip program. This means you have tons of great local options, including local retail stores, restaurants, gas stations, and entertainment venues. The order form lists all of the available businesses categorized by Retail, Automotive, Restaurant, Entertainment, and Specialty.

How do I place an order?

Right now, we run our Scrip program offline. Yep, good ol' paper and pen. Complete the order form for Tigard-Tualatin Scrip, and turn it in with your payment. Orders need to be dropped off at the school office by 3:30 p.m. on the Monday of order week.

How do I pay for my order?

At this time, we can only accept payment via check or cash (no credit card payments). Checks can be made out to Sherwood Charter PAC. Please include your payment with your order form.

How and when do I get my gift cards?

Scrip gift cards will be delivered to you during carline on the Thursday of the same week of the Monday order deadline. On your order form, we need you to indicate your phone number and car line number to make this work.

If you're unable to receive your Scrip order on Thursday, contact the PAC to make alternative arrangements.

Do Scrip gift cards expire?

Gift certificates may have stipulations. Some may say they are good one year from date of purchase. This is to encourage people to redeem the certificates in a timely manner. Gift cards, by law, do not expire or have fees assessed for non-use. Read the back of each card to know the specifics or check the balance online at the store website.

What are the costs and benefits to the PAC?

The PAC pays an annual $15 fee to participate in the program with Tigard-Tualatin Scrip, in addition to a $10 processing fee to the Scrip office for each order period. We are provided the rebates immediately from the program.

Our goal for the remainder of 2017 is to raise $1,000 by January 1, 2018.  See below for some examples that demonstrate how the program works.
