November 2018 Scrip Order Form

New for 2018-2019

We will be conducting large, strategic Scrip orders this year, as opposed to doing weekly orders like we did last year. There will be a major Scrip drive for two weeks around late November so you can use gift cards for your holiday purchases and give them as gifts. We'll conduct another Scrip drive toward the end of the school year so you can stock up for summer fun and treat those teachers who have had such a huge impact on your kids all year.

What is Scrip?

Scrip means “substitute money.” Scrip is pre-paid gift cards and paper gift certificates for specific stores, restaurants, or services that provide a rebate to nonprofits as a way to raise funds. Scrip is a dollar-for-dollar exchange and costs supporters nothing. You purchase gift cards for places you would normally shop and in return the PAC receives a percentage to use to benefit SCS. In other words, you pay face value for all gift cards while the Scrip program give a rebate to the PAC.

What businesses can I get gift cards for?

We participate in the Tigard-Tualatin Scrip program. This means you have tons of great local options, including local retail stores, restaurants, gas stations, and entertainment venues. The order form lists all of the available businesses categorized by Retail, Automotive, Restaurant, Entertainment, and Specialty.

How do I place an order?

Right now, we run our Scrip program offline. Yep, good ol' paper and pen. We will provide an order form for you to fill out and provide instructions on how to submit your order and your payment. Keep an eye on this website and our Facebook Group for announcements of Scrip drives right before the winter holidays and right before the school year ends next spring.

How do I pay for my order?

At this time, we can only accept payment via check or cash (no credit card payments). Checks can be made out to Sherwood Charter PAC. Please include your payment with your order form.

How and when do I get my gift cards?

Scrip gift cards will be delivered to you during carline on the Thursdays during the winter and spring Scrip drives. On your order form, we need you to indicate your phone number and car line number to make this work.

If you're unable to receive your Scrip order during carline, contact the PAC to make alternative arrangements.

Do Scrip gift cards expire?

Gift certificates may have stipulations. Some may say they are good one year from date of purchase. This is to encourage people to redeem the certificates in a timely manner. Gift cards, by law, do not expire or have fees assessed for non-use. Read the back of each card to know the specifics or check the balance online at the store website.

What are the costs and benefits to the PAC?

The PAC pays an annual $15 fee to participate in the program with Tigard-Tualatin Scrip, in addition to a $10 processing fee to the Scrip office for each order period. We are provided the rebates immediately from the program. It is our hope that strongly encouraging participation during highly active shopping times of the year will net the PAC (and thus our ability to help SCS) in excess of $1,000 per Scrip drive. Not bad considering all you have to do is shop, dine, and do activities you were already going to do.
