Looking to Get Involved?

There are many ways to get involved in supporting our children's educational experience and building a strong sense of community through the PAC.

We have many open coordinator positions that need to be filled to make these events possible!  But you don’t have to do it alone!  Many activities have helping hands!!

PACtivities

Wreaths

Description: Help spread holiday cheer while raising funds that help the school. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we use the funds for all of our activities, including Teacher/Staff Appreciation, school family events, and operating expenses. 


The Coordinator position would facilitate communications with Farmington Gardens, update order forms, collect and organize orders made by SCS families, finalize order and secure delivery of products.  Upon delivery, the coordinator would help facilitate organization of products for easy pick.  Coordinator would work with a volunteer team.

Poinsettias

Description: Help spread holiday cheer while raising funds that help the school. We're excited to pair our wreath fundraiser with these beautiful plants. This is a new fundraiser for us at SCS, and we'll use the funds for all of our activities, including Teacher/Staff Appreciation, school family events, and operating expenses. 


The Coordinator position would facilitate communications with Al's Garden Center, update order forms, collect and organize orders made by SCS families, finalize order and collect the vouchers to give to the school for distribution. Coordinator would work with a volunteer team.

Winter Family Festival

Description: This is a NEW event for SCS PAC this year and we are excited to bring back family community events!


The Coordinator position would work with a team of volunteers to create and facilitate a family event with a Winter Theme held at SCS.  Some thoughts or ideas would be holiday/winter caroling, hot chocolate bar, winter crafts, and “snow ball” fight.  Event date: December 8th.

HEART Family Dance

Description: This is a NEW event for SCS PAC this year and we are excited to bring back family community events!


The Coordinator position would work with a team of volunteers to create and facilitate a HEART Family Dance during the school’s traditional HEART week.  This traditionally takes place in February.  It will be fun and easy to decorate the school gym in a “heart” theme!

Spring Flower Baskets

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week

Description: Our wonderful teachers do so much to fill our children's minds and hearts with joy, wonder, and knowledge. This is one way we like to say a big "Thank you!" This annual event happens the first week in May and involves a week of gifts, special thoughts from SCS families and other treats.

Uniform Closet

Description: The Uniform Closet is gently used uniforms that have been donated to pass down to other SCS Families.


The Coordinator positions would organize, manage, and set up days the closet will be available to families to ‘shop’.

Teacher/Staff Luncheons

Description: We like to show our support to our amazing teachers and staff all year long by having each grade take turns hosting a lunch for their monthly staff Friday meetings. Each class will designate a coordinator to help organize and facilitate a lunch, either by assigning food drop-offs or collecting funds to bring in food.

Dining Night Outs

Description: This is a fun and easy way to fundraise for the PAC. Eating out locally while supporting the SCS PAC!  


The Coordinator position would be responsible for setting up dining night outs at local restaurants and food venues. Maintaining communications with accounts set-up to make sure earned funds are received and delivered to the PAC Treasurer.

Spirit Sales

Description: Get into the school spirit with SCS spirit wear.


The Coordinator position would be responsible for collecting order forms, organizing the order and setting up delivery of the items.

Book Fairs

Description: Live your dream of being a book retailer! Help kids and their families purchase books for themselves as well as books that get contributed to classroom collections selected by teachers.


The Coordinator position would be responsible for making connections with our Scholastic Books Representative to initiate delivery of book fair inventory/registers. The coordinator would set-up a volunteer schedule to manage the book fair/set-up/take-down.

Classroom Representative

Description: Are you a great communicator? Keep your classroom informed by committing to attend all monthly PAC Board meetings (or find the occasional backup) and create an open line of communication with the other parents and guardians in your class.

Social Media Coordinator

Description:


Be a part of the PAC's success by sharing the latest news and updates through social media. Send our important messages to SCS families via social media and connect with the community. 


The Coordinator position would communicate all important events and news on the PAC's social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.

SCS Library

Description: The library is generally open twice a week and is staffed by parent volunteers. Volunteers are also needed to help re-shelve books and label new books as they are added to our library. This is a great way to get involved whether you’re able to come and work at school or would like to do home projects!

Church Appreciation

Description: Help us say thanks to the place SCS calls home. This one-day event that takes place about the same time as Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring typically involves coordinating some special food and beverages brought in for the church staff.
