PAC Meeting – Sept. 10th, 2020

CALL TO ORDER- Meeting began at 6:30 Jen Crosby open meeting and introductions were made. The floor was opened to nominations for Chair. Roxie nominated herself for the position and Justin second the motion. Jen Crosby motioned to vote Roxie in for the 2020-2021 Chair, motion was voted and passed. Thank you Roxie for another year of your volunteering and commitment to SCS!
Meeting Opening: Roxie presided over the meeting. She opened the floor for parents comments and suggestions for this school year and its challenges with Covid-19 safety protocols.
The following was suggested and noted:
A parent had concerns about a certain author being used in middle school. It was suggested she might want to address her concerns with the school board.
A parent questioned who was making decisions after the nine-week period of distance learning. She too was noted and suggested she speak to the board or Mrs. Raboli about her questions to get mercise answers.
Book Fair Online was positively received and Kelly will look into dates and possibilities of hosting online.
Dinner Out Coordinator is still needed and a possible program to continue this year.
Kona Ice Fundraiser will be looked further into and put onto the calendar.
Bottle Drop Off Fundraiser was added to the calendar for Oct. Roxie will coordinate and set a volunteer schedule.
Zoom meetings for new parents and families was suggested.
Facebook will be better publicized on Thursday Email. This way new parents will see communication is done through Facebook. As well as graduate level Facebook pages..
Fundraiser:
*Spirit Wear is still an option because 8th graders still need to order sweatshirts. This will help us meet our purchase minimum. This will need to be looked into as well.
*Uniforms still need clarity from the Front Office. Uniform closet is still an option. Need to set a date for Closet to be out during PAC events.
*Wreath Fundraiser will be done this year. Vendors still need to be chosen as well as if nearby farms aren’t affected by recent wildfires. More information to follow next meeting.
*Parent suggested looking into 4print.com
