We know that some families in our community are in need of food supplies. We've compiled some resources that might be helpful.
The first resource is the school itself. They have a limited supply of food and personal care supplies that can be disseminated to students in need. (The name of the program escapes me at the moment, but they will know what you mean when you ask.) By reaching out to the school, you not only may receive some kind of assistance, but the school can then know what the current needs of our community are and adjust their responses dynamically.
Other local options:
- Helping Hands Sherwood Food Pantry: Provides a monthly food pantry and a backpack program for students in the Sherwood School District, Helping Hands Sherwood.
- YMCA Food Pantry: Open to the community and offers weekly food pantry services with no appointment required, YMCA of Columbia-Willamette.
- St. Francis Food Pantry: A shopping-style pantry where clients can select items, with no appointment needed, St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
- Willowbrook Food Pantry: Located at Journey Church and serves families in Sherwood, Tualatin, and Tigard, www.journeysherwood.org.
- SHARE Center: The Sherwood School District's resource center has a food pantry that operates by appointment, Sherwood School District.
